Utah and Arkansas introduced bills to ban medical facilities from using genetic sequencers or software from China.

A similar bill also advanced in Tennessee.

The efforts come as Chinese companies continue collecting genetic data from Americans. At a hearing in Nebraska last week, Michael Lucci, CEO of the State Armour project, testified about Beijing’s ambition of winning the biotech war. NTD spoke to Lucci to dig deeper into the topic as well as LB644, the bill looking to protect American genomic data in Nebraska.
