The Senate trial on former President Donald Trump's impeachment is delayed until next month. President Joe Biden says Trump's impeachment trial needs to happen, although he admits it's not likely Trump will be convicted.

It's the first time a non-sitting president will face such a trial, and some Republicans are arguing against the lawfulness of holding a trial for a former president.

45 Senators have voted that the trial is unconstitutional, so it's unlikely the Senate will impeach Trump. Democrats need at least 17 Republican senators to successfully convict him.
