With Joe Biden getting sworn in tomorrow, the Senate is vetting his cabinet picks. Some of his nominees share what they see as major threats to the United States.

Five senate panels are holding separate hearings for President-elect Joe Biden’s cabinet picks on Tuesday.

Senator Warner of the Senate Intelligence Committee asked Biden’s pick for Director of National Intelligence, Avril Haines, whether she believes communist China is our adversary. Haines adds the Biden administration will think of China as a global competitor, but in the area of espionage, she believes China is an adversary.

The Senate Homeland Security Committee held a nomination hearing for Biden’s pick for Secretary of Homeland Security. Biden’s nominee Alejandro Mayorkas believes domestic extremism to be a major threat to homeland security. Mayorkas also believes the CCP-virus pandemic to be a top challenge the Department of Homeland Security will have to confront.

Biden’s pick for Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, also shares this view. He calls the virus pandemic the greatest challenge since World War Two. He also says America will be able to counter threats from Russia, Iran, and North Korea, but he does not mention threats from Communist China. Instead, he says, quote, “we can out-compete China.”
