Kevin Stocklin, a financial reporter for The Epoch Times as well as host and producer of “The Shadow State” documentary, said he spoke to state financial officers about this. They question whether Fink’s statement is a sincere change of heart, or simply a rebranding of the term, which has become a lightning rod for criticism.

ESG is an investment strategy that considers environmental, social, and governance issues when deciding which companies to invest in. Some say the practice can help portfolios keep from holding companies that are acting unethically, but others say it slashes the bottom line in favor of promoting a progressive political agenda.
