Tens of thousands of supporters from across the nation gathered on Sunday to honor the life and legacy of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated at the age of 31.

President Donald Trump addressed the massive crowd at Kirk’s public memorial service at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

“Charles James Kirk was heinously murdered by a heinous, cold-blooded monster for speaking the truth from his heart,” Trump said.

Kirk co-founded Turning Point USA, a conservative youth organization aimed at attracting young voters. The influential activist was hit by a single bullet on Sept. 10 while speaking to a crowd at Utah Valley University. Kirk was known for visiting college campuses and holding debates with students on controversial issues.

The attack wasn’t just against one person, rather the entire country, Trump said.

“He’s bigger now than ever before,” the president told supporters.

Trump intends to posthumously award Kirk with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which is the highest civil honor.

Erika Kirk, his widow, gave an emotional tribute to her husband. Since the assassination, she has taken on the role of her slain husband as the new Turning Point USA CEO and chair of the board.

Erika noted that in the days following Kirk’s death, there weren’t any riots or forms of revolution. The country saw a revival instead, Erika said.

“While Charlie died far too early, he was also ready to die,” Erika told supporters. “There was nothing he was putting off,” adding he left this world without any regrets.

“He died with incomplete work but not unfinished business,” Erika said.

Erika said she forgives her husband’s assassin, saying her husband wanted to help people like him.

“He wanted to save young lives, just like the one who took his life ... I forgive him. That man, that young man, I forgive him,” she said.

Vice President JD Vance told supporters that Kirk’s assassination has prompted a spiritual revival.

“Charlie just didn’t tell the truth, he lived it,” Vance said.

Trump’s cabinet members paid tribute to Kirk’s legacy, including Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Kirk had a special “uncanny wisdom” at his young age.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard highlighted Kirk’s fearlessness and urged his supporters to carry his legacy forward.

Susie Wiles, Trump’s chief of staff, credited Kirk with building “the most powerful youth organization of our time.”

Stephen Miller, White House deputy chief of staff for policy, said Kirk’s death unleashed a powerful movement.

“The day that Charlie died, the angels wept,” Miller said. “ But those tears have turned into fire in our hearts. And that fire burns with a righteous fury that our enemies cannot comprehend or understand.”

Influential conservative commentator Tucker Carlson described Kirk as a truth-teller and said there was “no hate in Charlie’s heart.”

Other notable speakers include his mentor Frank Turek who recalled the last moments of Kirk’s life.

Kirk’s pastor, Rob McCoy, Florida Republican donor Rebecca Dunn, and Kirk’s chief of staff Michael McCoy also shared inspirational stories.

“Charlie was not silenced,” McCoy said. “His movement is only beginning.”

Due to the president's attendance and the ongoing political turmoil in the aftermath of Kirk’s assassination, enhanced security for the high-profile event was in place. According to a senior Department of Homeland Security official, the service had been given the agency's highest level security rating, reserved for "events of the highest national significance."
