Multiple bank executives have committed suicide while the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) continues to purge its financial system.

The president of an inter-provincial bank died of carbon monoxide poisoning earlier last year this month, according to authorities.

"Days later, the president of a local branch of a major Chinese bank died after he fell from a building," Wang Shengyong, the president of Yangtze River Village Bank, said.

"As pressure mounts, other mid-level and senior executives are also being hit hard," Gong Danzhi, the president of the Tianjin Branch of Huaxia Bank, said.

Chinese media report that bank deputy general manager Du Haitao died of a heart attack two weeks ago. He was 49 years old.
