A minute after midnight Friday, train engineers with the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, started their strike against New Jersey Transit. This is affecting 300,000 customers who use New Jersey Transit daily. Now it’s also affecting 70,000 commuters who make the trip from New Jersey to New York to work. The gates are closed at New York’s Penn Station for New Jersey Transit customers. Some customer service representatives have been directing customers who are concerned that they might not be able to get back to alternative routes for transportation. NTD spoke to a few of those customers. Here’s what they had to say.
