Just 19 percent of French voters approve of President Emmanuel Macron’s actions and only 18 percent back Prime Minister François Bayrou, according to a new Ifop poll. The record-low numbers come in the wake of Bayrou’s proposal to eliminate two public holidays, part of a $50 billion cost-cutting plan. The suggestion has drawn strong public backlash, especially from working-class citizens and conservative groups.
