India on April 23 responded to a post shared by President Donald Trump on Truth social. Trump reposted comments from a radio host who used a derogatory word to describe India and China's living conditions.

“In their ninth month of pregnancy they just drop a baby here, become an instant citizen, and then they bring the entire family in from China or India or some other hellhole on the planet." said Michael Savage, a conservative talk radio host.

China said the international community could judge for itself what China is like. India said Savage’s remarks are quote “uninformed, inappropriate and in poor taste.” Adding the remarks do not reflect the reality of the India-U.S. relationship, which has been based on mutual respect and shared interests.
