The Trump administration has not yet confirmed the deportations.

The potential deportations were reported amid heightened tensions between the two countries following the U.S. bombing of Iran's nuclear sites in June.

Meanwhile, the United Nations reimposed sanctions on Iran this past week over its nuclear program.
