Two federal judges in Maryland and New Hampshire are set to hold virtual hearings on legal challenges to President Trump’s executive order aimed at restricting birthright citizenship. The policy would limit automatic citizenship for children born to illegal immigrants and temporary visitors.

Immigration advocates are pushing class action lawsuits to block President Trump’s executive order. The move follows a Supreme Court ruling that restricted nationwide injunctions. The six-three ruling doesn't decide the fate of Trump’s executive order on birthright citizenship, but it does tell lower courts to narrow broad rulings that blocked it. The Supreme Court said such injunctions can still be allowed in class action lawsuits.
