New information is surfacing on the four Americans kidnapped in Northern Mexico. Two have been found dead according to the regional governor, Américo Villarreal Anaya.

Victor Avila, a retired special agent with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), tells NTD that HSI and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement offices in Matamoros, the city of the kidnapping, are working diligently with Mexican officials to locate the Americans. Avila also says the kidnapping is the latest incident following the Gulf Cartel engaging in a plaza war with the Sinaloa Cartel and others for control over the Matamoros, Tamaulipas area, which “is a major corridor for drugs smuggling, human smuggling and human trafficking.”
