A man accused of vandalizing Vice President JD Vance’s Cincinnati home is now facing multiple federal charges. William DeFoor is scheduled to appear in federal court today.

Federal prosecutors say the 26-year-old was arrested just after midnight Monday after Secret Service agents saw him breach the perimeter of the protected residence armed with a hammer.

Authorities say DeFoor ignored repeated commands, damaged multiple windows, and caused more than $28,000 in damage to federally owned security equipment. DeFoor allegedly tried to flee and was detained by Secret Service agents and Cincinnati police.
