Over the weekend, Trump posted on Truth Social, stating "Don't worry about China," and that Chinese leader Xi Jin-ping "just had a bad moment."

Less than 48 hours earlier, Trump on Friday vowed hefty new tariffs on China, pushing total rates to about 130 percent over what he called Beijing's "trade hostility." Beijing fired back on Sunday.
