New details are emerging about an alleged illegal biological laboratory discovered at a Las Vegas home, where a former cleaning employee told investigators that multiple people became seriously ill after spending time inside the property, according to newly released court documents.

Police say the cleaner reported seeing lab-style equipment, chemical containers, and refrigerators inside a locked garage on the property. She also described a strong, hospital-like odor inside the space.

The cleaner told investigators that she and a handyman later became “deathly ill” after entering the garage. According to the documents, both individuals experienced breathing problems, extreme fatigue, and muscle aches within days of exposure.

The cleaner also reported that several guests and residents who spent time at the home fell ill. One individual was hospitalized with severe respiratory symptoms, the documents state.

Authorities have arrested the property manager in connection with the case and sent more than 1,000 suspected biological agents for testing as the investigation continues.

Investigators say the Las Vegas home is owned by a Chinese national who is already in federal custody. That individual is linked to an unauthorized laboratory uncovered in California in 2023, authorities said.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not yet released the results of the biological testing.
