Special counsel Jack Smith filed a superseding indictment in the Jan. 6 election interference case against former President Donald Trump. It slimmed down the allegations against Trump in light of the Supreme Court’s immunity ruling.

The Trump campaign confirmed that former Democrats Tulsi Gabbard and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have joined Trump's transition team. Both have endorsed Trump for president, and Gabbard will appear with Trump at a town hall in Wisconsin later this week.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said senior Biden administration officials pressured his company to censor COVID-19 content during the pandemic. He sent a letter to the House Judiciary Committee, saying he regrets bowing to those demands and not speaking out sooner.

The Israel Defense Forces rescued a hostage from a tunnel in southern Gaza in what they called a "complex operation." Qaid Farhan Alkadi, 52, has been transferred to an Israeli hospital and reunited with his family members, more than ten months after being kidnapped by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7, 2023.

White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan arrived in Beijing for a three-day visit. He and Chinese officials are expected to focus on the U.S.–China relationship, including advancing counter-narcotics cooperation, military-to-military communication, and discussions on AI safety and risk.
