On Friday, President Donald Trump hosted a roundtable at the State Department focusing on the mining industry. Trump is touting a $3 billion series of historic mining projects to counter China’s supply chain dominance and around $180 million investment into U.S. mining schools.

The Senate approves a Russia sanctions package to reinforce U.S. support for Ukraine. Late Senator Lindsey Graham was working on the package for a year, right up until the day before he died. The bill would allow Trump to impose tariffs on the world’s top five buyers of Russian oil or natural gas, with exceptions.

Enes Kanter Freedom, former NBA player—and current human rights activist—announces himself as a prospect for the 2027 WNBA Draft. Freedom posted on X, saying that if declaring who you are is all that’s needed, then he meets all the current self-identification guidelines to play.
