The Yemeni Houthis admitted to a missile attack on a commercial ship sailing through a vital trade route. The shipping company said no crew member was injured from the strikes.

Ukraine says it has severely damaged a large Russian warship in Crimea. This could hinder Russia's efforts to seize more Ukrainian territory in the Black Sea.

Two Republican members of Congress, Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Brandon Williams, were targeted in separate swatting attempts on Christmas Day. Ms. Greene vowed to introduce a bill that would track down swatters.
