President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an order to create retirement accounts for millions of Americans who don’t have access to employer-sponsored plans. The changes would affect workers, including freelancers, contractors, gig workers, and self-employed individuals. Americans will be able to access the program at TrumpIRA.gov, and it is set to begin on Jan. 1, 2027.

A new video of the alleged White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooter has been released, showing the moment authorities say he tried to storm the dinner and attempt to kill Trump. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro posted the video on social media amid questions over whose bullet struck a Secret Service officer, saying there is no evidence the officer was hit by friendly fire.

The Supreme Court’s recent division on redistricting is shaking up some upcoming elections. Louisiana is now postponing its congressional primaries, and Florida and Mississippi are now moving to redraw their voting maps. A new voting map, one that's not drawn on the basis of race, could give Republicans a chance at winning an additional House seat in Louisiana in the November midterms. Some Democrats, however, implied that the high court’s decision removed protections for minority voters.
