Trump Admin Revokes More Than 175,000 US Visas

Democratic strategist Lee Neves and Republican strategist and economist John Jordan joined NTD to discuss the implications of the Democratic Socialists of America’s (DSA’s) string of victories in recent primary elections and the emergence of two competing factions inside the Democratic Party.

Neves said the DSA is benefiting from angry Democratic voters who want to fight back against President Donald Trump, and that voters don’t have the time to look at any platform in depth. However, he said DSA candidates won’t fare as well in the general election, when the general population turns out to vote.

Jordan said the Democrats have gotten on the wrong side of too many 80-20 issues, especially for the socially and fiscally conservative black male and Latino voters, and that the DSA is 85 percent white, making it more difficult for Democrats to win in a lot of statewide races because of the fraying of the Obama coalition.

Neves agreed that the Democratic Party is no longer the party of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, which catered to the working middle class. Jordan said the Democrats have lashed themselves to transgender ideology, adding that a lot of voters will consider the arguments of both parties in that light.
