Three suspects have been charged with assaulting federal law enforcement and other offenses at anti-ICE protests in Portland, Oregon. They made their first appearances in federal court on June 26.

Police say several individuals gathered near an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in South Portland on June 24. The site has been repeatedly targeted for weeks. Authorities say protesters have made threats, sprayed pepper spray, and thrown rocks, trash, and bricks.

Julie Winters of Portland faces felony charges for attempting to assault federal officers with a knife. Police say she also tried to light an incendiary device next to a guard shack. Aziel Chambers of Merlin, Oregon, is accused of using a laser pointer against an officer. Rachel Jean Pope, also of Portland, allegedly threw a gas canister at officers.
