Recent Chinese reports have some concerned that Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials may not be being held to account.

Secretaries of the Wuhan municipal and Hubei provincial Party committees, Ma Guoqiang and Jiang Chaoliang, were dismissed from their positions last year during the early stages of the pandemic. It was due to their poor handling of the virus situation and lockdowns that resulted in countless deaths.

But according to recent Chinese reports, both of them have been reinstated as Party officials, just under a different title. Locals told NTD they're concerned about whether Chinese officials are truly held accountable for their misdeeds.
