Hundreds of fantasy fans gathered in the Czech Republic to recreate a massive battle from “The Hobbit.”

Around 750 participants dressed as elves, dwarves and orcs charged through forests and hills near Chlum. Combatants used foam-padded swords, shields, bows, and spears in large-scale battle scenes.

The event was inspired by the Battle of the Five Armies from J.R.R. Tolkien’s famous novel. Participants traveled from multiple countries to bring Middle Earth to life.
