Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), former chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, discussed with NTD's Steve Lance his work as a federal prosecutor in 1996 in the case of Johnny Chung, involving foreign campaign contributions and tax evasion, and efforts made to influence the election of President Bill Clinton, which led to China achieving favorable policies and accession into the World Trade Organization under the Clinton administration.

McCaul also discussed how the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) malign influence in the United States has grown over the decades, including its use of the United Front as a lobbying arm against U.S. interests and for the CCP's interests.

McCaul says China's espionage has become more sophisticated, and that projected weakness from the United States has emboldened Russia, Iran, and China.

He said that CCP leader Xi Jinping envisions himself as like a reincarnation of Mao Zedong, a former CCP leader and founder of the People's Republic of China, and wants to restore imperial China to include Taiwan.

McCaul also talked about his 2016 book "Failures of Imagination," and why the regime feels threatened by groups like Shen Yun Performing Arts in the United States.
