The Justice Department secured a landmark settlement in May forcing Texas Children’s Hospital to pay $10 million and permanently end transgender surgical procedures for minors. The hospital was also forced to open the nation’s first clinic to help detransitioners undo the harm caused. For one 21-year-old, however, the ruling came five years too late.

NTD’s Daniel Monaghan spoke with detransitioner Claire Abernathy about her journey.
