A shark alarm sounded at Coogee Beach in Sydney on Saturday, June 13, after a shark mauled a female swimmer, leaving her seriously injured in the latest of a series of attacks off the Australian coast.

An eyewitness video showed people looking toward the bay at a moving jet-ski as the shark alarm sounded.

Emergency services were called to Coogee Beach in the morning after reports that the 35-year-old had been bitten by a large shark about 100 feet from the shore.

A week earlier, a man died after being attacked by a shark while fishing off the coast of Western Australia.
