UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer visited the White House on Thursday and sat down with President Donald Trump.

High on the agenda was peace negotiations for Ukraine. On Wednesday in Washington, Starmer urged the United States to provide a security "backstop" to any future European peacekeepers in the UK.

He reinforced the allies' bond, saying "there is no more important relationship" for the UK than with the United States, "in defense, in security, in trade, in tech, in finance, and so much more," adding the UK wants "a new partnership" with the United States.

James Price, a research fellow at the UK Centre for Policy Studies, joined NTD to discuss.
