In a recent blog post, billionaire California gubernatorial candidate Tom Steyer said the state could use existing laws to investigate and prosecute federal immigration agents who break the law. His plan includes strengthening protections against racial profiling, creating a task force to investigate detention centers, and expanding legal support for immigrants. But the idea is getting pushback.
