Hollywood conservative and "Superman" actor Dean Cain has signed up to be a federal agent for the nation's immigration enforcement agency.

Cain revealed on Wednesday he'll soon take on a new, real-life role as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent.

The decision, according to Cain, comes after he shared one of ICE’s recruitment videos on social media.

“I’m actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer—I wasn’t part of ICE, but once I put that [recruitment video] out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy,” Cain told<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/video/6376636387112"> Fox News</a>. “So now I’ve spoken with some officials over at ICE and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent ASAP.”

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been aggressively recruiting for more agents to support President Donald Trump's deportation agenda.

DHS recently removed age limits for new hires at the agency.

The department said it would waive age limits for new applicants so that more potential candidates can qualify to work for ICE. The recruitment blitz comes after a major infusion of cash from Congress.

ICE applicants were required to be 21 years old and no older than 37 or 40, depending on the position. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said applicants can now be as young as 18.

The former actor said the nation has a "broken immigration system," praising Trump in delivering for delivering on his campaign promise to carry out mass deportations.

He said Americans voted for this and suggested that joining the force is a form of patriotism.

"This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing," Cain said.

Cain also implored others to join the agency.

DHS is seeking to hire 10,000 new immigration officers. More than 80,000 have already applied.

As part of the recruitment campaign, ICE  is offering a bonus of up to $50,000 for new recruits and other benefits, including student loan forgiveness and abundant overtime for deportation officers.

All ICE recruits must go through medical and drug screening and complete a physical fitness test, DHS said.

Cain said Americans should support ICE agents who are protecting Americans and serving in the interest of national security.

"These brave men and women need someone to stand up for them," Cain said. "So rarely these days are we seeing that."

The American actor played Clark Kent in the popular television series "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" from 1993 to 1997. Cain has been a vocal Trump supporter and publicly endorsed him in 2016, 2020, and 2024.
