The Michigan Supreme Court's recent decision allowing former President Donald Trump to remain on the state's ballot is sparking discussions on the legal implications. NTD spoke to William Sharpe, former federal prosecutor and President Trump's attorney, to find out his opinion on the Michigan case.

Mr. Sharpe was keen to praise the recent decision, stating that it aligns with the majority of courts—except Colorado—in rejecting what he called a flawed interpretation of the 14th Amendment.

Mr. Sharpe also criticized the Colorado Supreme Court's decision, citing potential voter disenfranchisement. The Michigan Supreme Court, focusing mainly on procedural grounds, allowed a lower court judgment supporting President Trump to stand.

Mr. Sharpe also anticipates U.S. Supreme Court intervention due to conflicting state decisions. "I think the Supreme Court has to get involved: I think they will get involved," he said.
