The Supreme Court extended a temporary freeze on a Texas immigration law on Monday. The law would allow state police to arrest and detain people suspected of entering the United States illegally.

The extension comes as the court considers emergency appeals. The Biden administration and others have asked justices to block enforcement of the law while their challenges play out in lower courts. NTD spoke to Lora Ries, the director of the Border Security and Immigration Center at The Heritage Foundation, to find out more about the state's likelihood of prevailing in the case.
