October 28th marks 139 years since the last rivet of Lady Liberty was installed. The statue arrived from France in more than 200 packing cases, where it was reassembled piece by piece.

Standing 151 feet tall, the statue was a gift from France to commemorate the nations’ alliance during the American Revolution. Since then, Lady Liberty has become a universal symbol of freedom and hope.
