President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he never offered to nominate JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon for the job of Federal Reserve chair. The Wall Street Journal first reported on the issue, claiming Trump planned to hire the CEO for the role.

Dimon on Saturday also confirmed he was not asked to be Federal Reserve chair, hours after Trump disputed the report.

“There was no job offer," Dimon said in a statement.
