Wall Street kicked off the new trading week yesterday with turbulence after President Donald Trump refused to rule out a tariff-driven recession. All three major stock market indexes had record poor days, with the blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average ending March 10 down by 890 points, or 2.08 percent.

When asked if tariffs would create a recession on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo,” Trump said, “I hate to predict things like that. There is a period of transition, because what we’re doing is very big. We’re bringing wealth back to America. That’s a big thing. And there are always periods of ... it takes a little time. It takes a little time.”

NTD spoke with Jeffrey Tucker, founder and president of The Brownstone Institute and a senior columnist with The Epoch Times, to get his views on the developments.
