House Passes Defense Policy Bill That Attaches SAVE America Act

Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, joined NTD'S Steve Lance to discuss the increasing strong consumer spending and investment and his forecast for the next quarter.

Norquist said making President Donald Trump's tax cuts permanent, making tax credits for new investments permanent, and deregulation have made more investment in the United States possible.

Norquist said Trump is looking into getting the U.S. Treasury to make a rule relieving Americans from paying taxes on capital gains. He said that would tremendously increase the wealth of the country because savings and houses would be worth more.

Norquist also said imports can offset GDP because importing products that go into investments is the future of America. He predicted the Federal Reserve would keep interest rates holding in the third quarter, saying the Fed's goal is to govern for people's lifetimes, not the next election.
