The United States accused Russia of using the United Nations Security Council to spread misinformation about its war against Ukraine.

Russia requested for the Security Council meeting after the United States rejected Russian accusations that Ukraine is operating chemical and biological labs with U.S. support.

During a United Nations Security Council meeting in New York on Friday, the United States denied the two countries were developing such weapons.

European nations are also accusing Russia of using the U.N. Security Council to promote disinformation from Moscow.

The British ambassador to the United Nations called Russia's allegation "utter nonsense," and the French ambassador called Russia's allegation part of a "disinformation campaign."

China called on the United States to prove that Russia's biological claims were fake.
