John Lonski, economist and president of The Lonski Group, discussed with NTD's Steve Lance the Federal Reserve's quarter-point interest rate cut on Wednesday.

He also spoke on the relatively low inflation and decent economic growth during President Donald Trump's first term, and the damage the COVID pandemic did to the U.S. labor force and work ethic. Lonski also talked about the effects of the Biden administration's policies and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's monetary policy following COVID on the federal deficit and inflation.

Lonski called for reduced spending and higher taxes, particularly through consumption taxes aimed at making America healthier again, as steps to reduce the federal government budget deficit. Lonski opined that the only way out of the current economic situation is to endure slower economic growth over the next six to nine months.
