Secret Service Says Gunfire Reported Near White House Overnight

The U.S. Commerce Department announced on Monday that it was withdrawing from a 2019 deal suspending an anti-dumping investigation into fresh tomatoes from Mexico. The department said it was imposing a tariff of 17.09 percent on Mexican tomato imports.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said American farmers have been "crushed by unfair trade practices that undercut pricing," adding that that practice was now at an end.

Mexico said the tariffs were unfair and warned they could hurt American consumers just as much as Mexican producers.
