Convicted felon Austin Simon on Friday night accosted the store clerk—reportedly after his girlfriend’s food-stamps card was electronically rejected as payment—and she accused the clerk—Jose Alba—of snatching a bag of potato chips from her daughter’s hand. The Daily Mail cites Alba’s family as saying that she then produced a knife from her purse and attacked Alba—before calling on her boyfriend for backup.
