If you're looking for some last-minute items on Christmas Day, these are a few of the major chains that are open or closed on Christmas Day.

If you forgot to buy a gift for a relative or family friend coming into town and it's already Christmas Day, you won't be able to shop at Walmart, Target, or Costco. All three of those stores are closed on Christmas Day.

If you need some last minute furniture or home improvement items, Home Depot, IKEA, and Lowe’s will be closed.

Macy’s stores are closed for Christmas, so no returning items or picking up last minute gifts from there.

Some other grocery, convenience, and retail stores that are closed on Christmas Day are: ALDI, Publix, Rite Aid, Sam’s Club, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s.

There will be a few places open on Christmas Day.

Safeway has many stores closed, but there will also be some locations open with adjusted hours.

Sheetz and most 7-Eleven’s are open 24/7, including on Christmas, but some locations’ hours can vary.

Walgreens, Starbucks, and McDonald's are open for Christmas Day but hours can vary depending on those locations as well.

So burgers, fries, and coffee will still be open options for all your fast food and caffeine needs.
