While Mr. Trump has filed a motion to sever his case from the other defendants who were seeking a speedy trial, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis has reiterated that she wants to try all 19 defendants together. Some commentators have said Mr. Trump's tactics are designed to delay the trial, while legal experts say he could freeze the Georgia case if he becomes president again.

Meanwhile, Mr. Trump's campaign has raised over $9 million since the release of his mugshot—with the shot reproduced on t-shirts, coffee mugs, and posters across the United States.
