Nurses in Paris, Texas, ordered a pizza during their graveyard shift, but the employees at the shop weren’t too happy.
On Wednesday, Kerry Miller, a friend of a Texas nurse at Paris Regional Medical Center posted a note from the Domino’s Pizza employees containing a message that many are saying was quite rude considering the circumstances.
“We would appreciate it very much if you didn’t wait until 5 minutes before we close,” the note read. Miller added: “What the heck? You know, come on.”
The note was added into a pizza box after it was ordered just minutes before closing time.
“I don’t care if they called one minute ’til, the business is still open,” Miller told KVUE-TV. “Service your customers.”
Miller said that nurses save lives every day no matter the time, the weather, or if there is a holiday.
“How would you feel if you wrote something like that and then the next day you were laying there?” Miller added.
A spokesperson told CBS DFW that the note doesn’t bode well with them.
“We do not condone or encourage this kind of behavior or one-sided ‘dialogue’ with our customers,” the spokesperson, Tim McIntyre, told the station.
Miller said he hopes it doesn’t happen again.
“I want to see an apology to that hospital,” Miller added. “I don’t care if they have to bring a pizza to every floor, those nurses deserve something better.”
He added: “This is a disgrace that any business has this attitude towards any customer.”
Domino’s Pizza hasn’t issued a statement as to whether the employee will face disciplinary action over the note.
