Almost a generation has passed since that fateful day when terrorists hijacked planes and destroyed the twin towers, killing thousands of innocent Americans in just a few hours.

Paul Grattan was a recruit at the NYPD police academy who was stationed in Brooklyn at the time. He was dispatched to the Brooklyn side of the Manhattan bridge that morning to help people escape from a noxious cloud of dust and debris.
