Orange Chocolate Roll Ingredients:

Orange Chocolate Roll Dough:
1 cup milk
3 cups flour
2 tsp instant yeast
1/4 cup sugar
2 Tbsp softened butter
1 tsp salt

Orange Chocolate Roll Filling:
peel from one orange – chopped
2 tbsp Cocoa powder
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Orange Chocolate Roll Icing:
1/4 cup Powdered sugar
Zest from one orange
1-2 tbsp orange Juice

Orange Chocolate Roll Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, add warm milk, yeast and sugar. Wait 10 minutes for yeast to activate

2. Add flour, salt and butter. Mix with a spatula until it comes together

3. Turn out dough onto a surface dusted with flour, knead until dough is soft and elastic (5-10 minutes)

4. Cover and let rise for an hour, or until doubled.

5. Prepare muffin pan for 12 buns by coating evenly with butter.

6. Butter or oil up a rolling surface. Oil rolling pin. Punch air out of dough, roll dough out to about 12x16in rectangle.

7. Brush dough with butter. spread even layers of sugar, cocoa powder, chopped orange peels and chocolate chips.

8. Roll the dough up and away from you, stretching it slightly towards you as you roll.

9. cut into 12 even 1inch rolls and divide into muffin pans. Cover and let rise for an hour or until rolls develop a good “muffin top”.

10. Preheat oven to 375F, bake for 20 minutes.

11. Turn out onto a cooling rack and let cool slightly upside down until bottom hardens.

12. Mix orange zest with powdered sugar. stir in 1 tbsp of orange juice. If icing is too thick, slowly drip in more orange juice until desired consistency is reached.

13. Drizzle generously on buns and enjoy warm or cooled.
