Paris tour bus gets stuck in tunnel

A double-decker tourist bus tried to fit through too small a hole and got stuck. The bus was trying to traverse the tunnel under the Alexandre II bridge in Paris.

Unfortunately the driver was a little too optimistic.

Four passengers were injured in the collision, one seriously.

The bus stayed stuck in the tunnel for half an hour. Eventually the fire department was able to get the bus to back out.

The bus, operated by the Big Bus Tours company, was taking an alternate route because there were several Olympic sports displays scheduled along its normal route, including over the Alexandre III bridge. Paris is bidding for the 2024 Olympic Games.
