Rick Harrison, host of the popular reality TV show “Pawn Stars,” recently gave some thought-provoking—and humorous—examples to debunk the socialist policies some Democrats are trying to push ahead of the 2020 election.

“I tell college kids…next time you’re in college and talking to these other students that love socialism, just tell them, ‘Let’s do the tenets of socialism,'” Harrison said on “Outnumbered.”

“Next time we have a big test we’re just going to average out all the scores and everyone gets the same, same score on the test. See how hard everyone tries next week,” he continued.

“It will slow down the work to where everyone gets an ‘F’ in the class,” Harrison said. “There’s no point in working hard.”

Executive president of the American Conservative Union (ACU) Dan Schneider, also recently noted that the Democratic Party has made a hard shift to the left in recent years, a trend that was clear in the ACU’s federal legislative rating scorecards. In the 2018 midterm elections, several Democrats ran on openly socialist platforms.

“Socialism robs people of their identity. It robs people of their power, of their wealth, and of their influence,” Schneider said in an interview with The Epoch Times.

“We need to reject socialism and all the evil that’s associated with it and restore the dignity of the person so that people could lead fulfilled lives,” he added.

“We need to reeducate people about their ideas of our nation’s founding, why America is so special. We are the only nation on the planet founded on the proposition that people can govern themselves,” he said.

At this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), President Donald Trump criticized the Democrats’ push for socialism.

“Democratic lawmakers are now embracing socialism. They want to replace individual rights with total government domination,” he said. “Socialism is not about the environment. It’s not about justice. It’s not about virtue. Socialism is about only one thing—it’s called power for the ruling class.”

As president, Trump’s actions have pushed back against a drift toward socialism.

“The future does not belong to those who believe in socialism,” he said. “The future belongs to those who believe in freedom. I have said it before, and I will say it again: America will never be a socialist country.”

Harrison also commented on socialism in a speech at CPAC.

“It’s literally like heroin. The first shot is great. For a little bit it’s wonderful, but then the rest of your life is a living hell. And that’s literally what the socialists are doing,” he said.

“Once you give someone something, it’s hard to take it away … then you get Venezuela,” he said.

Vice President Mike Pence suggested during his speech at CPAC that the struggle in Venezuela is between “socialism and freedom.”

He used Venezuela as an example of socialism’s failure. The once oil-rich nation has been crippled by socialist policies of now-illegitimate dictator Nicolás Maduro. Nine out of ten Venezuelans live under the poverty line and more than three million have fled the nation, Pence said.

“The truth is, Venezuela needs what America has. Venezuela needs freedom,” Pence said. “Freedom is about enabling people to live their lives as they see fit—not government control. Freedom produces more and better goods than any system in any other place and time in American world history.”
