Four penguin chicks at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago have taken their first swim in what the aquarium says is an important milestone in their development.

The four chicks were born in April and May and haven’t yet joined the rest of the aquarium’s penguin colony on public display.

Officials haven’t determined the sexes of the chicks and they’re not yet named.

The penguin chicks have been reaching additional developmental milestones, including eating fish, socializing, and exploring new spaces around the aquarium.
