Petitioners Suppressed During China’s 2 Sessions

The Chinese Communist Party maintains an infamous tradition of blocking citizens from petitioning. Especially around sensitive political or international events.

While the annual parliamentary sessions were in full swing, a campaign to quell the demonstrators once again unfolded across the country.

In one case, a citizen was detained for filing an inheritance dispute with higher authorities over two decades ago.
