Czech tennis star Petra Kvitova has recovered enough to play in the French Open.

She came back from an injury to her hand when she defended herself from a knife-wielding robber.

Her injuries required four hours of surgery. She is happy to have recovered and happy to be alive.

She will be seeded 15th at the French Open, and says she will also be ready to compete at Wimbledon in July.

Kvitova will face American Julia Boserup on Sunday.
