NTD spoke with Michinari Sakai, a physics scientist, in Washington D.C. on Saturday:

“First of all, the media plays two roles. One is to inform, but the other is to influence public thought. So, we all try to be unbiased and I know The Epoch Times is doing a very good job. I saw The Epoch Times’ commercial, saying that 90 percent of the media is controlled by six companies. If so, then the companies have some common interest.”

“And then, that interest, that common interest will influence what they report. And then, that will come out to influence public opinion. Recently, you saw the CNN tapes coming out. So people at the highest places that control these media are definitely, they have an agenda that they want to fulfill. And media suppression or blocking information, that’s part of it.”

“So definitely there’s media trying to control public opinion. The media companies, they are a private company. The social media companies are private, so they can do whatever they want. But if they choose to moderate their content and be acting as publishers, then they need to receive that kind of, whatever responsibility that entails. So yeah, they can do whatever they want. But if people disagree, they should be able to sue those companies.”
